The Wolf King

“When a princess is kidnapped by an alpha, war rages between the humans and the wolves. But soon, forbidden attraction starts to grow…

Princess Aurora longs to escape the castle and the marriage that has been arranged for her.

But on the night before her wedding, at a dog fight where captured werewolves are made to fight for sport, she spares the life of a young wolf. It puts her on the radar of the powerful alpha who was going to kill him. And it changes everything.

That night, when the alpha escapes, he kidnaps her and takes her to the rugged lands north of the border – where the once warring werewolf clans are beginning to unite. He thinks that she is the key to winning the war against the humans.

Only, as they spend time around one another, forbidden attraction starts to grow. And as Aurora learns that not all wolves are bad, the alpha discovers that she is in danger from both his enemies, and those he once considered friends.

With monsters on both sides, a bloodthirsty war between humans and wolves raging, and undeniable passion growing between them – will their story end in love? Or tragedy?

And will Aurora ever get home?

Does She even want to?”

Book Review

I definitely liked this book. I wasn’t sure how I felt initially, but after I got going, I couldn’t stop. It’s written from the point of view of the main character, Aurora. She is just a girl who is determined to decide her own fate. I will not spoil the book, but this one will hook you and make you keep reading to learn what happens. I was pretty bummed that it ended when it did; I wasn’t ready for it to end. Thankfully there will be a second book coming, and I will definitely be reading it when it comes out.

Do I Recommend Reading?

Yes, I recommend this book. It’s a nice read and is a good fantasy romance without being overly graphic, although it does have enough graphics that it’s an adult book. I would recommend it to someone who likes something similar to Twilight and also to anyone who likes forbidden romance in a dated fantasy setting.

Extras (note, may spoil for you; read with caution)

Favorite Character

I can’t decide between the three main characters for a favorite.

Why

I would jump back and forth throughout the whole book. This will most likely be determined in the second book, when things get even more juicy.

Hated Character

This is a tie between Aurora’s father and Isla.

Why

Let’s start with Isla. I didn’t like her for obvious reasons. She was very nasty the whole time, basically. She acts very childishly when she steals from Aurora, even rubbing it in her face when she does. I enjoyed it when Aurora got her revenge on her way too much.

Now, Aurora’s father isn’t actually in the book that much, but I still dislike him the same way. As the book goes on, the more you discover how horrible a father he has been for Aurora’s life. How he was to her mother as well was very aggravating. How he saw the women in his life was irritating.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment was on page 200, in chapter 32. When Callum told Aurora, “And you’re in my bed, with the scent of another male all over you. And I don’t like that. I don’t like that one bit. I want you to smell like me. When another wolf is close, I want it to be my scent they smell on your skin. I want to mark you as mine.” “You smell so much like him… like Blake… It’s driving me out of my mind.”

Favorite Quote

“This tent is nothing like that. And yet, it is so much better. Because Callum did this. He did this for me.” – Aurora
