Introduction to Kudos Diapers

What are Kudos Diapers?

Kudos Diapers are 100% cotton-lined, total chlorine-free diapers made from plant-based, renewable materials.

Who are the founders?

Founded by MIT engineer Amrita Saigal and her college bestie in 2019 and is based in Boston, Massachusetts. Saigal presented Kudos on the TV show Shark Tank.

Company Values

  1. They believe that better for the planet should be the expectation, not the exception
  2. Believe natural products can and should perform better than traditional ones.
  3. They believe in complete transparency about safe, clean ingredients and processes.
  4.   Believe in supporting and celebrating all parents and families all the time
  5. Believe in transforming the industry through science

Design

They’re designed to be gentle on babies’ skin, with a breathable barrier film that keeps moisture away from the skin.

Kudos is two times more plant-based than the leading natural diaper brands. Using TruCotton, the diapers are cleaned using a process that utilizes zero water, chemicals, or heat. Made with 70% unbleached and 30% bleached cotton, the bleaching process is 100% chlorine-free.

Materials and Manufacturing

Made with degradable materials like sugarcane and trees, they are 100% lined with cotton. Cotton will be the only thing touching your baby’s bum. The company’s mission is to reduce the amount of plastic in disposable diapers.

All Kudos products get quarterly PFSA testing.

Honest Review

Sizing

It took my newborn a while to get big enough to fit in the size one (but I also have a tiny baby). Now that she fits them, they fit well with a high back and good elastics around the legs.

Performance

I’ve had a great experience with the performance. My newborn likes to have blowouts, and I have had zero blowouts like I did with the pampers. They are soft, and my daughter hasn’t had any rash problems. It feels dry to the touch when I change her.

Overall

I give them 4.5 stars, with the excellent performance and the soft comfort. Minus the half a star for sizing being a little big for my little-bitty baby, but thankfully, she didn’t take long to gown into them. I wish they had a premee size that would have fit my tiny newborn.

Final thoughts on Kudos

As a mom who uses cloth diapers at home, I was excited to find a disposable diaper that was 100% cotton on my baby’s bum. I use them every time I’m out and about or traveling.  It’s the closest I can find to my cloth diapers. I like to use them when my baby is going to be in her car seat or carrier; she stays comfortable with the dry feeling and does not get a rash. My go-to for disposable diapers is Kudos; when I use Kudos, I do not expose my daughter to harsh chemicals or toxic materials, which is the most important thing to me. Also, I like that they are made with USA-sourced materials and are now making the whole diaper in the USA.

  • No more diaper prints; minimizing dyes
  • For optimal fit, extra stretch
  • A slight increase in length and width for accurate sizing
  • More eco-friendly and softer; biodegradable outer cover
  • For faster production and quality control, now made in the USA

Is Kudos cotton bleached?

70% unbleached cotton and 30% bleached cotton is used. The bleaching is 100% Chlorine-free but gives the cotton the durability to hold up in a diaper. Most diapers use 100% bleached cotton, which makes them white. You might notice some specks in Kudos diapers, but it’s just the unbleached natural cotton.
