Intro

When it comes to being pregnant deciding on what to use during your nine months can be overwhelming. Nowadays, with the internet, finding about anything you could think of, or even things you never would have thought of, can leave you wondering. “What do I actually need?” or “Which one should I pick?”

Being pregnant for a second time and doing so many things differently than the first time, I’m looking back on what was better and what wasn’t. This post is for you expecting moms; I go over 5 products that I used, if they were loved or not, and if I would use them again. Some of them I wished I used the first time, others made me miss what I used last time… let’s get into it!

Prenatal Care

Let’s start with the first thing you will most likely start shopping for when you find out you’re expecting your prenatal vitamin. The first time around, my doctor prescribed me a prenatal, but this time they didn’t, so the hunt began. Picking the right prenatal vitamin can feel like a huge decision (especially with all the options)… this is all about you and your baby’s health, right? Picking one without folic acid was very important for me, and you would be surprised how many have it.

There are some main brands I found that are organic without the folic acid. After narrowing it down to just two, I finally picked Heart & Soil. Why? One, I’ve heard great reviews about the benefits of using beef organs as vitamins. Two, I’ve also seen a lot of moms saying they used beef liver as part of their prenatal care and loved it. Third, they are USA-made, and well, I’m in the cattle industry. This pick honestly seemed the most natural type of vitamin.

Heart & Soil

Did I love them or hate them? I loved them. When I started them, my morning sickness slowed way down, my energy came back up, and the pregnant brain was less noticeable. Are they expensive? Yes, the biggest downfall is the price, but after taking them, I would spend it again. I didn’t get the whole prenatal package, and that saved me some, but if I were to have another baby, I would most likely buy the whole package. These are a recommended product for sure. They have regular everyday vitamins, too ( I plan to use them after delivery), not just prenatal vitamins.

Stretch Mark Cream

Stretch mark cream is probably the second most used product an expecting momma uses. Most of us don’t want the permanent marks reminding us of how big we got. Having really bad eczema making my skin really sensitive means I’m pretty picky about what goes on it. Finding an organic solution that wouldn’t irritate my skin but still actually worked to keep those marks away was a careful decision.

With my first pregnancy, I used TriLASTIN from Amazon. Did it work? Yes, there weren’t any stretch marks. I would recommend using it on the fact that it worked. Dislikes? For me, it made me itch, nothing so bad it was unbearable but more annoying than anything. I didn’t have any bad rashes or anything like that, but like mentioned above, I also have very sensitive skin due to eczema and also being allergic to fragrances on my skin. 8 Sheep Organics

This time around, I was far more picky about what I used. I landed on 8 Sheep Organics and decided to give it a try. Did I end up loving it? Yes, this Belly Serum and the Nighttime Balm have been amazing. It left my skin feeling nice and soft for a long time after each use. Did it prevent stretch marks? Yes, again, I’m about to pop with ZERO stretch marks at all. I have been completely satisfied with this product. I will definitely use them again if the occasion is upon me, I 100% recommend them! Bras

With all the changes and growing body parts, plus depending on if you plan to breastfeed or pump, you will most likely be buying some new bras. Most nursing bras are meant to be bought while pregnant. I’m not sure I have found the perfect bra yet, to be honest, but here is what I have tried and my opinion of them. All have been purchased from Amazon, so nothing crazy fancy, just something to get by.

Kindred Bravely (a brand I used the first time) is a sports bra style nursing bra with medium support. Pros, comfortable, good material. Cons, the main downfall was that they seemed to stretch out over time, so a smaller size might be a consideration when purchasing. Also, they are on the expensive side. Overall stars would be a 3.5/5, do to I personally like more support. If you want to check them out, Click Here.

As Fairly nursing bra
Avidlove nursing bra
As Fairly (TOP), Avidlove (BOTTOM)

As Fairly (using this time) is a more “regular” style bra without an underwire. (on the top in the photo) Pros, comfortable and supportive. Very affordable. Cons, they seem to roll with the big baby bump, but that will go away later. Overall, the stars would be a 4/5. Click Here to check them out.

Avidlove (another one from this time) is another “regular” style bra without an underwire. (on the bottom of the photo) Pros, comfortable and supportive. Affordable. Cons, run a little big, definitely get your pre-pregnancy size, they send a extender with it so you can always go up. Overall, the stars would be 4/5. Click Here to check them out.

Pregnancy Pillow

The thing that every late-term pregnant woman loves… but their husbands probably hate… the pregnancy pillow. Getting a good night’s sleep is every important, but pretty much impossible while pregnant, a good pillow can help so much. I’ve tried a massive U shaped one and a little compact one, which one is better?

Mi & Mor Pregnancy Pillow
Mi&Mor Pregnancy Wedge Pillow

Mi&Mor Pregnancy Wedge Pillow is going to be the more compact one. It has a nice soft material to lay on that comes off and washes. The center is also adjustable. It has helped with the pressure when lying on my side. It would be really good for travel and if you have a smaller bed. But I do still find it more comfortable with a pillow between my legs for more support. If you want to view it, Click Here.

As Awesling 60 inch Full Body Pillow is the massive U-shaped one. It has a nice cozy material as well that comes off for easy washing. Comes with a tiny little pillow for extra stomach support. It also comes apart for extra customization. This is my favorite of the two. The only reason I didn’t get this again for my second pregnancy was because my husband hated it in our bed, and I was curious about trying something smaller. (Man, am I missing this right about now, I wish I had a picture for you). If you want to check it out, Click Here.

Belly Band

Belly Band

A belly band is something I didn’t use the first time around, but this time I was looking for anything to help with all the pressure on my pelvis. I finally decided to get one and man I’ve not been disappointed, I’m always wearing it. If you are having the lower back pain and the bad pelvic pains you should try a belly band, it’s like a weight has been lifted off you. Wearing it over your clothes makes it a lot more comfortable (for me, at least). This product really helped relieve the pelvic pressure, along with the back and hip pains. Click Here to check out the one I got.

Conclusion

These are the 5 main products I used while pregnant. For prenatal vitamins, Heart & Soil has been amazing; I 100% recommend it. For stretch mark cream, my favorite is 8 Sheep Organics; it has worked really well on my sensitive skin, and with zero stretch marks, I used the 2-step Stretch Mark Prevention Bundle. Haven’t totally found the perfect bra yet. As Fairly and Avilove are very similar to each other and are the most comfortable ones I have tried yet.

Don’t mind if your husband doesn’t like the massive U-shaped pregnancy pillow; it’s definitely the favorite out of the two. Lastly, get the belly band; they help you be more comfortable, especially in those last couple of months; It is totally worth it, and you won’t be sorry. What are some of your favorite pregnancy products you have used or are currently using?
